Our Faith Formation program is intended for families with children not attending parochial school in grades K - 8. Families have the option to choose either a Wednesday night program at St. Columbkille or a Thursday night program at St. Catherine (see schedule below).
What:
Faith Formation in the pastorate has evolved from a weekly Wednesday night classroom model (what you may have previously known as Religious Education or CCD) to an at-home, ‘growing together as a family’ model. Our Faith Formation content follows the model: God CALLS us to be disciples and FORMS us by our Catholic Faith to ENCOUNTER Christ, EMBRACE deeper faith and EMPOWER Christian action.
When/Where:
Wednesdays at St. Columbkille
This year we will focus on Encountering Christ with families. We will be doing this through the five components of our program - the Saints, Prayers, Presentations, and a topic presented by a parishioner or staff member each month. We would like to lead our families this year to have an encounter with Christ through the foundational aspects of our faith like the Mass, the Sacraments, Prayer and Scripture, just to name a few. We also put a strong emphasis on attending Mass each weekend as a family. We hope you'll join us for the program! Faith Formation families gather once a month from September through April in Presentation Hall at 6:00 p.m. on the scheduled dates:

Light snacks will be provided at the beginning of each presentation.

Thursdays at St. Catherine

Faith Formation families gather once a month from September through March at 5:30 p.m. for Mass at St. Catherine followed by a light meal in the parish center and a presentation from 6:30 - 7 p.m. on the scheduled dates:

Who:
The St. Columbkille program is coordinated by Alice Noethe and the St. Catherine program is coordinated by Marybeth Wagner. It is prepared and carried out in a way that parents initiate discussion in the home with the topics that they present, and lead their family by example. A parent's faith carries their young children and this program is not just for children - it is for parents, too!

- SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION
  If you have a child that is entering second grade, or is older but has not yet received the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion, please register your child at stcolumbkille.net/sacraments for these sacraments. To clarify, that child should be registered for Family Faith Formation as well, therefore completing two registration forms during a Sacrament year.
