Elementary Choir (3rd/4th/5th Grade)
Led by Sr. Kim Tuyen Nguyen and Cindy Henert
St. Columbkille Catholic Parish invites children in grades 3, 4 and 5 to participate in music ministry through the Elementary Choir. This choir is for children who enjoy singing and want to develop their musical gifts.
Participants will strengthen their voices, learn to sing, praise God, and grow in their understanding of the Catholic faith. They will take an active role in the Mass by leading the congregation in sung prayer and may also have opportunities to cantor (lead the singing as a soloist).
This is a wonderful opportunity to share the gift of music with the parish community, make new friends, and have fun!Schedule of Rehearsals and Masses:
Following the Dubuque school schedule, choir rehearsals are held on two Wednesdays each month from 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. at St. Columbkille Church. The choir sings at the 4:15 p.m. Mass on one Saturday each month, with a rehearsal held immediately before Mass. Rehearsals will be canceled in the event of a snow day or other school cancellation. Practices are held at 7 p.m. in Fogarty Hall the Wednesday night before a scheduled weekend Mass. If a student is unable to attend practice, please notify Mrs. Ayla Murphy ([email protected]).
